In honour

I try to keep things in proportion
But I feel very small
I try to hold on to a portion
Of what I think is sanity
I try to look upon your bright side
But I find it burns my eyes
I try to live beside your ring side
Watching you throwing punches
I’d hate to see you take a fall
For you I’d take a dive
You’re more Roman than a candle
More Amazon than amour
You’re more mishap than a mystery
Your sparks fly with a dignity
And even though you scare me
With your bravado
I will always stand by
Your right to make mistakes
I will always stand by
Your right to stand for Right
And I will never stand by
When you chose to fight
I try to honour and protect you
