One day you will suffer

"It can't all be sunshine and roses for as one door shuts another one closes"

That excess pint
That word mis-timed
That men are men and real men fight
One day you will suffer

That unpaid debt
That sure thing bet
That time you found the rent was spent
One day you will suffer

That journey's end
That long lost friend
That inability to make amends
One day you will suffer

That long cold night
That last goodbye
That that is all there is to life
That one day you will suffer

There is no happy ever after
Hollow is the sound of laughter
Joy is but a temporal buffer
To the day when you will suffer

So I held on, held on, held on tight
For you were one of my brief delights
Yes I held on, held on, held on tight
Made you suffer me in your life
