Sleeper

I'd like a medal for sleeping
An everyday hero old me
I'd rather a medal for sleeping
Than a place in this history
Give me a medal for sleeping
For the fearless ones are not brave
So give me a medal for sleeping
Through dreams yet consumed by the flames
I need a medal for sleeping
In such a terrible place
You'd need a medal for sleeping
If your homes were turned into graves
I deserve a medal for sleeping
After the things I have seen
The colours of life reduced to black ash
All for the price of a handful of cash
So
Give me a medal,
That I can send back
