On My Own Two Feet

I hate to haveta ask for stuff
I hate to haveta use a crutch
I hate to haveta say yes please
I hate to haveta be so weak

A little kindness brings a frown
A little help will bring me down
A little hope will just rebound
A little lost a little found

Big ideals
Big belief
Big old bastard
Bitter dreams

A little help from my friends
A little hell to make amends
A little less I'm still a mess
A little tender heartedness

I need to stand on my own two feet
I need to own my destiny
I need to learn to feel free
In my good friends' good company
